Type 1 MOT

So, what is MOT Type 1?

The fabric can be anything from geotextile cloth to tailor-made landscaping fabric. This type of fabric is made from permeable mesh. It can filter, reinforce, drain, protect, or separate materials. One of the biggest benefits of this type of fabric is that it reduces the chance of weeds.
- Spread your base layer. Base layers should consist of larger pieces of crushed concrete. The base layer needs to be level so that the following layer is level.
- Spread MOT across the even base layer.
- Place a wacker plate over the MOT. This stops air from travelling through loose pieces of aggregates to the sub base.
- We recommend creating a slight peak at the centre of the driveway. This will combat drainage issues in the future.
